On August 3, 2008, hundreds of bicyclists (maybe thousands--I didn't get a chance to count everyone) got together at Coe Park in Torrington for a charity ride. Officially billed as “The Tour of the Litchfield Hills”, the ride consists of routes throughout Litchfield County in Northwest Connecticut. Depending on how ambitious the cyclist, the routes are of varying lengths, from 12 miles to 100 miles. And there's even a shorter route for walkers. The ride was put together five years ago to benefit a very worthy Charity, The Center for Cancer Care Fund, whose web site can be found here: http://www.charlottehungerford.org/support/cancer_care_fund.asp. Fortunately, the weather was beautiful (and cool for a summer day). Regardless of the route, the rides offer some of the most beautiful scenic views in Connecticut.
