Independence Day Galleries

2008 July in the Sky, Vernon, CT : On Tuesday, July 1, Vernon celebrated Independence Day with a variety of events. This exciting and fun event celebrating the 4th of July was sponsored and organized in part by the Vernon Bicentennial Committee. Downtown Rockville once again hosted the Push, Pull & Pedal Patriotic Parade, which is "geared" towards kids though anyone can participate. The rain this rain put a bit of a "damper" on things for a while, but it eventually let up enough that the festivities could continue. Henry Park was host to several events and activities, some of which I captured here. David Garrity performed a magic show ending with an on-stage escape from a straightjacket. Karl Saliter entertained the crowd with his comedy and many talents, including juggling and fire-eating.
