The 1st Annual Rubber Ducky in Vernon was a great success and raised a substantial amount of money for the Linos Club and Vernon's Bicentennial Fund.
Several organizations were there, including Fidelco with seeing-eye dogs in training, Hidden Dragon Karate, and Rita's Ice.
At 3:00, approximately 1000 rubber ducks were dropped in the Hockanum River just behind CT Golf Land & Go Carts. After a thrilling ride of 2 minutes and 40 seconds, the lead duck floated through the gate, earning the winner $1000.
